Yonah Martin
Senator, The Senate of Canada

official-photo-2014The Honourable Yonah Martin is a Conservative Senator from British Columbia who was appointed to the Senate by The Right Honourable Stephen Harper in 2009. She is the first Canadian of Korean descent to serve in the Senate of Canada and the first Korean-Canadian parliamentarian in Canadian history. Graduate of the University of British Columbia in 1987, she spent 21 years as an educator until her appointment to the Senate. With the desire to “bridge communities,” she became a community activist and co-founded the C3 Society in 2003. She served as Chair of C3 until her entry into politics as a Conservative candidate in the 2008 election. Currently, she serves as Honorary Patron of C3. In addition, she is also passionate about mentoring and empowering youth and young adults, which led to the development of a Parliamentary internship program in 2011. Among the many charitable and non-profit organizations on which Senator Martin serves, the Executive Mentorship Program is one that she truly enjoys and values.

Julie Marzolf
President, Marzolf & Associates Strategic Communications Corp.

julie-headshotJulie is the President of Marzolf & Associates Strategic Communications Corp., a firm with over 25 years of experience in public consultation for complex large-scale and infill real estate projects. She has developed and implemented successful communication strategies for clients throughout Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island including private sector, institutional and not-for-profit land owners. Marzolf has been active on EMP’s Board of Advisors since 2000. The driving force of her continued involvement with EMP is the quality of students who participate in the program and their desire to “soak up” advice and experiences; the good, bad and the ugly! Julie is an active member of the Urban Development Institute, a longstanding member of Canadian Public Relations Society and former passionate participant in the St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog Programme at Children’s Hospital. She is a Greenstreet volunteer with the City of Vancouver, maintaining an organic flower and vegetable garden on the Point Grey Greenway. She resides and works with her husband of 42 years and enjoys her grown children and three amazing grandchildren.


Rebecca Nguyen
Development Manager, Citimark Development Corporation

Rebecca NguyenRebecca Nguyen has been with the EMP since its inception as an EMP Director during the first two years of the program’s launch. As a past graduate of the Sauder School of Business Bachelor program specializing in Real Estate, Rebecca is currently a Development Manager at Citimark Development Corporation, a locally-based real estate development company. Rebecca is extremely pleased the program has continued to provide students with experiences outside of the school’s walls with support and leadership from the local business community, helping students to “step out of the textbook and into the real world”.

Phil Seo
Solutions Implementation Manager, Vancity Credit Union

phil-headshot-2015Phil is an experienced management consultant with over 13 years of project management experience. He is currently the manager of Vancity’s Solutions Implementation team growing its Visa credit card and prepaid card businesses. He also has prior experience working at Deloitte Consulting in their Strategy & Operations division. He is passionate about mentorship and has been actively participating in our program since 2003. In addition to volunteering as our program’s mentor, he recently joined the EMP’s Board of Advisors, offering feedback and insight to EMP’s student executive team. Phil loves to travel and has worked, studied and volunteered abroad in countries around the world including Italy, Iran, Fiji, Korea, and Kenya. Phil graduated from UBC Sauder with a BCom degree and the Most Outstanding Male Graduate award in 2003, and later went on to get his MBA from UC Berkeley in California.


Vaclav Vincalek
President, Pacific Coast Information Systems

vaclav1Vaclav has established himself over the past 20 years as one of the leading entrepreneurs in Vancouver and has expanded from a foundation in information technology and web security to the connected worlds of crowd-sourced knowledge and social media. He is an award winning technologist specializing in founding and growing service and software organizations with a strong emphasis on emerging markets. Today, Vaclav leads the overall direction and vision for Pacific Coast Information Services Ltd., which he founded in 1995, as the President. On top of that, he is currently the CEO of Prosyna Communication Inc. and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Peer Effects Inc., Get Lucky Hotels, and CrowdTrust Technologies Inc. He is passionate about mentorship and, in addition to volunteering as our program’s mentor, he recently joined the EMP’s Board of Advisors, offering invaluable insight and suggestions to the EMP’s student executive team.

Richard Wittstock
Principal, Domus Homes

med-crop-tieRichard’s career in the Lower Mainland real estate industry spans over 20 years since his graduation from UBC Commerce (Urban Land Economics) in 1992. He started his career in the appraisal and consulting fields, and then, from 2001 through 2015, he held VP and SVP, Development positions at Amacon and The Salient Group. Richard’s career experience encompasses the development of over 2,000 multi-family residential units including townhouse and high-rise apartment construction, along with over 1,000,000 sq.ft. of commercial and industrial space. In January 2016, Richard co-founded Domus Homes, which is ambitiously pursuing a growth plan to become a leading homebuilder in the Lower Mainland marketplace and has seen rapid growth over its first year of operation. Richard has been active in a number of industry organizations, and especially he has devoted time to EMP for the past ten years (having recently joined its Advisory Board). He was a Business In Vancouver “40 under 40” winner in 2009. Richard is married with two young children, and enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family, in addition to road cycling, distance running, soccer, skiing and playing golf.
